Attention DES Parents:
First Responders Day will be held on October 3rd and is for DES students only. Students will have the special opportunity to learn about the roles of our local first responders, explore their tools and equipment, and thank them for their service in keeping our community safe.

*** 3RD ANNUAL ROBERT C SALAZAR XC RESULTS *** The Dilley XC Teams competed on their home course this past weekend at the 2025 3rd Annual Robert C Salazar XC invitational (District XC site). The Varsity Boys team was led by Junior Josiah Benavides who earned a 2nd place finish out of 75 runners in the VB division, running a career best time of 16:27, and led them to a 3rd place team finish! The Varsity Girls were led by Freshman Harvest Viesca who finished 7th out of 59 runners in the VG division, also running a career best of 13:14! The JV Boys were led by Rodrigo Cardenas who placed 12th while our only JV girl Angie Mejia placed 27th! Our 7th grade girls were led by Jenyka Galindo who placed 2nd overall, while our 7th grade boys were led by Julien Aguilar who placed 13th overall! The 8th grade boys were led by Owen Surles who placed 2nd overall helping his team earn the TEAM CHAMPIONS plaque! Lastly, the 8th grade girls were led by Faith Arriazola who placed 10th overall: Arriazola helped her team to a 5th place finish with the 3rd-5th place teams being separated by only 4 points!! We are incredibly proud of how our athletes competed today and had medalists in 7 out of 8 divisions! Throughout September, Dilley Elementary School recognized Attendance Awareness Month with fun dress-up days every Wednesday! Our students had a blast showing their school spirit while learning the importance of being present and on time.

Salazar Cross Country Invitational, where we will host 17 schools and over 550 participants! This meet honors the remarkable legacy of Coach Robert C. Salazar, who positively impacted countless student-athletes and guided the Dilley Boys to the 1997 team State Cross Country Championship. 🐺 DILLEY XC RESULTS @ ROUND ROCK & FALLS CITY 🐺 The Dilley XC V Teams traveled to Round Rock TX last Friday and competed at the 2025 HOKA McNeil XC invitational. The Varsity Boys were led by Junior Josiah Benavides who finished 31st out of 453 runners in the VB 1A-3A division. The Varsity Girls were led by Freshman Harvest Viesca who finished 142nd out of 410 runners in the VG 1A-3A division. Highlight of the meet: Benavides moved up from a 57th place finish last year, dropped 30s off his race time on the same course, and proved himself against state caliber competition on the State XC race site. VB and VG teams are looking strong against District schools and will be contenders in District in about 2 1/2 weeks! Our JV and JH Teams went down to Falls City TX the following day 9/20 and competed at the 2025 Falls City XC Invitational. The JV boys were led by Freshman Shawn Rodriguez who finished 4th place. The JH boys were led by 8th grader Owen Surles who shaved 30s+ off his old PR to capture a 5th place finish, and the JH girls were led by 7th grader Jenyka Galindo who also shaved off 30s+ to capture a new PR and an 11th place finish. Highlight of the meet: Just about everyone across the board was able to drop their time from their previous meet(s) and they're looking sharp with less than 2 weeks before District competition. They're looking ready to fire on all cylinders! Both JH boys and girls combined teams only lost to the 2nd place team in their division by a margin of 10 points or less. All of our Dilley XC Teams will be in action this Saturday, September 27th at the 2025 3rd Annual Robert C Salazar XC Invitational here on our HOME stomping grounds!! Dilley Elementary wrapped up an amazing Hello Week! 🎉 Staff and students participated throughout the week, spreading kindness and inclusion across campus. Hello Week is a national initiative that encourages students to create a culture of connection and belonging. This year’s Hello Week took place September 15–19, 2025. A big thank you to the MHMS Cheerleaders for visiting our elementary students and to the DHS Football players for joining in the fun! 🏈💚
