Dilley ISD Teams Up with Grand Canyon University!

The Stronger Connections team continues its partnership with Grand Canyon University (GCU), established last year. This week, the team visited the GCU campus in Phoenix, Arizona, for an engaging tour and collaboration meeting.

Through this partnership, Dilley ISD employees have the opportunity to pursue online degree programs with discounted benefits.

Staff interested in GCU’s online programs can contact the Stronger Connections Department to schedule a meeting. A GCU representative will be available on October 15th, prior to the Career Fair, to answer questions and provide more information.

Additionally, GCU offers an all-expenses-paid campus tour for high school seniors! Stay tuned for more details on the upcoming GCU Discover Trip later this semester.

🐺 2025 DISTRICT 28-AAA CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS 🐺 The Dilley XC Teams competed this morning on their home course at the 2025 District 28-3A Cross Country Championships. The Varsity Boys team was led by Junior Josiah Benavides who earned a 7th place finish in the VB division. The Varsity Girls were led by Freshman Harvest Viesca who finished 12th in the VG division. The JV Boys were led by Rodrigo Cardenas who placed 4th in the JVB division. Congratulations to all of our runners on a good season overall: it was one full of memories, PR’s, experiences, laughter, and competition! 🐺🏃🏽‍♂️LADY PUPS & PUPS SHOW OUT AT THE ‘25 DISTRICT XC CHAMPIONSHIPS 🏃🏽‍♀️🐺 Our Dilley MS Cross Country teams competed this morning at the 2025 District 28-3A Cross Country Championships right here in Dilley, TX, and they made us proud!! ✨ 7th Grade Lady Pups: Led by Jenyka Galindo, who absolutely dominated the course to become the Individual District 28-3A Champion with a 1st place finish! 🥇 💥 7th Grade Pups: Julien Aguilar led the charge, finishing 12th overall with a strong performance! 🥈 8th Grade Lady Pups: Danica Hernandez, Aubrey Garcia, and Faith Arriazola crossed the line one after another in 10th–12th place, helping their team earn the title of District Runner-Up Champions! 🏃🏽‍♀️ 🏆 8th Grade Pups: Led by Owen Surles, who finished 3rd overall, this group put on a dominant performance! With 5 of 6 runners finishing in the Top 15– Owen Surles, Vince Sauseda, Ram Ochoa, Payton Kinsey, and Trey Carpinteyro, the Pups brought home the title of DISTRICT CHAMPIONS with an impressive 19 point finish! 🥇 Congratulations to all of our Pups and Lady Pups XC runners and their coaches for their hard work, dedication, and a successful season!
