Stronger Connections hosted its first-ever Cancer & Diabetes Awareness Walk to honor the many individuals within our district, community, and families. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our partners and participants: H-E-B, Frio Regional Hospital, the Jealeana Cantu Family, South Texas Rural Health Services, La Salle County Sheriff Hector Ramirez, Frio County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, the DHS Mighty Wolf Band, DHS Cheerleaders, and the DISD Technology & Media Department.

If you participated in Mini Cheer Camp this summer with the DHS Cheerleaders you will perform and cheer with them on Friday night. There will be a quick practice for those who can make it tomorrow at 5:00 at the DHS gym. For the game on Friday, be at the stadium by 6:15pm!
Stronger Connections hosted another successful Food Bank, thanks to our amazing high school volunteers and Coach Foster’s middle school Character Education students!
Final Substitute Training of the Year
The Stronger Connections Team, Jackie & Jessica, along with Coach Rocha, took a small group of freshmen to Garner State Park. Students enjoyed swimming, playing basketball, and a delicious BBQ lunch. The trip was made possible through the Texas Parks & Wildlife grant, managed by the Stronger Connections Team. This grant provides Dilley ISD students the opportunity to visit and explore various state parks.

Andrew Autrey writer of the Cravens Hallow book series stopped by the DHS Library on Halloween to meet students who submitted short stories and art for his contest! First prizes are to have students stories and art published in his new book.
