Student-led Learning is happening at DHS in Ms America's Algebra I class!!! Students are preparing for the STAAR test by teaching each other through group discussions while Ms. America facilitates behind the scenes. The student teachers mission is to persuade the group that their answer is correct while the group critiques and compares their own work. Collaboration is key in the real world and they are certainly getting the hang of it. We Back the Pack!!!

Back on Friday April 5, the Lady Wolves JV Softball Team concluded their season with a win against Crystal City. Way to end the season Lady Wolves!!! We Back the Pack!!!

****Lady Wolves Regional Qualifiers***** The Lady Wolves are taking a trip to the Region IV Track & Field Championships in the following Events: Dakota San Miguel: 2nd Shot Put and Discus Alyssa Perez: 200m Dash (4th), Triple Jump (2nd), Long Jump (4th Place) Chloe Rodriguez : 400m Dash (2nd) ***Words From Coach Torres**** The Lady Wolves track team competed in the District 27-28 Area meet in Jourdanton on Wednesday and came out 5th out of 11 teams. 3 girls will be advancing to the Regional meet with Dakota San Miguel placing 2nd in the shot put and discus, Alyssa Perez finishing 2nd in the triple jump and 4th in the long jump and 200m dash, and Chloe Rodriguez finishing 2nd in the 400m dash. Azaela Espinosa had a 6th place finish in the 400m dash and the 4x100m relay team of Rodriguez, Perez, Kaylee Debrow, and Morgan Hildebrand finished 5th. America Rodriquez and Melinda Santillano attended the Carnegie Summit 24 in San Diego, California on March 23-26. This is an education workshop for improvement in education. The two lead teachers were selected by region 20 and sponsored by Educate Texas. Congratulations and we are ready to learn more on how to help our students! We Back the Pack!!!

Congratulations Dorian on placing 3rd in the 100m finals with a 10.56. This makes Aranda the 3rd fastest 100m athlete out of all of 1A-4A!!!! We Back the Pack!!!

****School Record Broken**** Dorian Aranda today jumped a staggering 46 ft and 2 in @ Texas Relays in Austin, TX, clenching a 7th place finish out of 24 of Texas' best jumpers from 1A-6A and will advance to triple jump finals. While at the meet, Aranda competed against this years ranked 3A State Champion and outjumped him!!!! Aranda will compete in the 100m finals later on today!!! We Back the Pack!!!!

Congratulations to Dorian Aranda for advancing to tomorrow'ss 100m finals by winning his heat at TX Relays with an official time of 10.52!!!! He will be competing in the long jump tonight @ 7:30pm Finals for the 100m will be tomorrow!!! We Back the Pack!!!
