Congratulations to the DHS CX Debate Teams for advancing to the UIL State Championships!!!!
DHS brought in two teams and swept the competition with a 1st and 2nd place team standing!
The boys team, consisting of Jonathan Osio and Brazos Viesca, were declared the District Championship Team! Chloe Rodriguez and Abriella Kayl right behind them receiving 2nd place!!!
The team is led by Senior Chloe Rodriguez and is excited to represent Dilley as they will travel to the University of Texas @ Austin on March 10-12 to compete.
Abriella Kayl, was declared the Best Speaker in the entire competition!!!
So many accomplishments to be proud of for our students here at DHS!

"Mighty Grey Wolf Band Member, Dante Mendez, will be performing with the 2024 ATSSB All-State Band next week in San Antonio, Tx!
More than 10,000 high school band students from across Texas auditioned in twenty-two different regions for a place in their respective all-region bands. The top chairs in each region advanced to one of the five area auditions held across the state and only 286 of these students were selected for all-state honors. On January 6th at Alice ISD, Dante competed against 22 other trumpets and earned 3rd chair which has qualified him for the 2024 ATSSB All-State Band!
The ATSSB All-State Bands will meet in rehearsals in San Antonio, Texas, February 8-11, 2023, and will present a concert beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023, in the Lila Cockrell Theatre of the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center in downtown San Antonio. Dr. BJ Brooks (West Texas State University) will be the clinician-conductor of the All-State Concert Band. Dr. David Allen Waybright (University of Florida) will be the clinician-conductor of the All-State Symphonic Band which will premier ConnectUS by Carol Brittin Chambers (commissioned by ATSSB).
We are very proud of Dante as he represents Dilley ISD at the State Level!"
